Air Peace Plane Veers Off Runway in Port Harcourt, No Casualties

An Air Peace flight operating from Lagos to Port Harcourt experienced a runway excursion on Monday morning after safely landing at the Port Harcourt International Airport (PHIA).

The incident involved Flight P47190 with registration number 5N-BQQ, which landed at approximately 07:45 hours before veering slightly off runway 03.

According to a statement by Air Peace spokesperson Osifo-Whiskey Efe, there was no damage to the aircraft and all 127 passengers on board disembarked safely and calmly without injuries.

 The airline assured the flying public of its unwavering commitment to maintaining the highest standards of safety in its operations.

Confirming the incident, the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) noted that evacuation procedures were promptly carried out and concluded successfully, with no casualties reported.

FAAN’s Director of Public Affairs and Consumer Protection, Mrs Obiageli Orah, advised travelers to anticipate delays for departing flights to Port Harcourt as a result of the incident.

She reaffirmed FAAN’s dedication to ensuring the safety and security of all passengers.
