Air Peace has secured regulatory approval to operate scheduled air services to Brazil, marking a major milestone in the airline’s ambition to become a leading global carrier.
The authorization, granted by Brazil’s National Civil Aviation Agency (ANAC), permits the Nigerian airline to operate passenger, cargo and mail services between Brazil and destinations across its network.
The approval paves the way for direct air connectivity between Nigeria and Brazil by a Nigerian carrier, opening new opportunities for trade, tourism, investment and cultural exchange between Africa’s largest economy and South America’s biggest market.
Air Peace said the planned Nigeria-Brazil route is expected to reduce travel time between both countries from nearly two days, often involving multiple stopovers, to approximately seven hours on a direct flight.
The development comes as the airline accelerates its international expansion strategy. Air Peace has applications before aviation authorities in Canada and the United States for scheduled operations into Toronto and New York, while plans are at an advanced stage to resume flights to Jeddah in Saudi Arabia and Guangzhou in China.
The carrier is also preparing to launch three weekly flights to Manchester in the United Kingdom, further strengthening its growing international network.
In addition, Air Peace recently announced new regional services to Douala, Libreville, Bamako and Conakry, scheduled to commence on August 1.
The airline’s international footprint currently includes London, Barbados and several West African destinations, reinforcing its position as Nigeria’s leading carrier in regional and international markets.
Industry observers say direct connectivity between Nigeria and Brazil could stimulate cargo movement, business partnerships and tourism flows while strengthening economic ties between the two countries.
With Brazil added to its expansion roadmap and more international routes in development, Air Peace continues to advance its strategy of building a globally connected African airline.
