The Nigerian College of Aviation Technology (NCAT), Zaria, has officially matriculated 200 students into its National Board for Technical Education (NBTE)-approved Ordinary National Diploma (OND) and Higher National Diploma (HND) programs for the 2024/2025 academic session.
The new intakes were admitted into the School of Aircraft Maintenance Engineering (AME) and the School of Aeronautical Telecommunications Engineering (ATE), two of NCAT’s flagship technical departments renowned for producing world-class aviation professionals.
The matriculation ceremony was formally declared open by the Rector of the college, Dr. Danjuma Ismaila, who was joined by other distinguished heads of tertiary institutions in Zaria, including representatives from the Nigerian Institute of Transport Technology (NITT), the National Research Institute for Chemical Technology (NARICT), and the Nigerian Institute of Leather and Science Technology (NILEST), among others.
Addressing the newly admitted students, Dr. Ismaila congratulated them on their successful admission into Nigeria’s premier aviation training institution. He urged them to approach their studies with dedication, discipline, and a deep sense of responsibility, noting that aviation training is rigorous and designed to meet global standards.
“Aviation training is not just local; it is for a global audience. It is intense, structured, and demanding. You must therefore commit yourselves fully. In aviation, the pass mark is 75%, and this means you must be diligent, attend all lectures, and comply with all laid-down procedures,” the Rector stated.
The Rector also admonished the students to steer clear of all forms of social vices that could derail their academic journey. He emphasized the importance of upholding the values of integrity, focus, and hard work throughout their time at the college.
While assuring the students of a safe and secure learning environment, the Rector reiterated the institution’s unwavering commitment to excellence in aviation training and the continuous improvement of its academic and safety standards.
The Nigerian College of Aviation Technology, Zaria, remains one of Africa’s leading aviation training centers, consistently producing top-tier professionals for the global aviation industry.
