Air Peace Refutes Misleading Report on CEO’s Visit to Ekiti

Date:

Air Peace Limited has dismissed a recent report by Sahara Reporters alleging that its Chairman and CEO, Dr. Allen Onyema, was stranded at the Ekiti State Agro Allied International Cargo Airport due to the airport’s lack of navigational aids.

The airline categorically described the claim as false, misleading, and an intentional misrepresentation of facts aimed at tarnishing the reputation of Air Peace and its leadership.

In a statement signed by Dr. Ejike Ndiulo, Head of Corporate Communications for Air Peace, the airline clarified that the delay experienced during Dr. Onyema’s visit to Ekiti was due to adverse weather conditions and not deficiencies in the airport’s infrastructure.

The aircraft scheduled to pick up Dr. Onyema and his team on Saturday evening was unable to land in Ekiti due to heavy rainfall, a routine occurrence in global aviation. As a standard safety measure, the flight was rerouted back to Lagos to ensure the well-being of all passengers and crew.

Air Peace also refuted the claim that its pilot engaged in a “risky manoeuvre” to exit Ekiti airport, emphasizing that the airline upholds the highest international aviation safety standards. The airline assured the public that at no point did any of its aircraft operate outside of established safety protocols.

The airline expressed disappointment over Sahara Reporters’ decision to publish what it described as a sensationalized and inaccurate account despite having access to the correct sequence of events. Air Peace reiterated its commitment to maintaining safe and timely operations, prioritizing passenger safety above all else.

As Nigeria’s leading airline, Air Peace reaffirmed its dedication to upholding excellence and transparency in its operations while discouraging the spread of misinformation that could mislead the public and damage reputations.
