NCAT Honours NAMA Leadership as AO32 Graduates Take Flight in Zaria

The Nigerian College of Aviation Technology (NCAT), Zaria, came alive with celebration as the Aeronautical Operator Course AO32 held its graduation and award ceremony, honouring exceptional leadership within the aviation sector and celebrating a new generation of professionals entering the field.

The event, held at the NCAT Auditorium, brought together aviation stakeholders, senior officials, instructors, and students to recognise individuals whose contributions continue to strengthen Nigeria’s air navigation and air traffic management systems.

Among the honourees were the Managing Director of the Nigerian Airspace Management Agency (NAMA), Engr. Ahmed Umar Farouk, and the Director of Air Traffic Services (DATS), Mr. John Tayo, both recognised for their outstanding leadership and commitment to advancing aviation excellence.

Farouk received a distinguished award for his visionary guidance and strategic reforms in airspace management, which have led to greater safety, efficiency, and collaboration between NAMA and aviation training institutions such as NCAT.

Mr. Tayo, on his part, was commended for his unwavering dedication to improving operational standards and fostering capacity development among air traffic controllers nationwide. His efforts in modernising air traffic services were described as vital to maintaining safety and reliability across Nigeria’s airspace.

In his closing remarks, NCAT representatives reaffirmed the institution’s commitment to producing highly skilled aviation professionals and strengthening partnerships with agencies like NAMA in pursuit of a safer, smarter, and more innovative aviation sector for Nigeria.
