United Nigeria Airlines has officially announced the commencement of direct flights to Accra, Ghana, beginning November 10, 2025, expanding its network beyond Nigeria’s borders for the first time.
According to a statement released on Tuesday, the new service will operate from Lagos and Abuja to Kotoka International Airport, Accra, marking a major milestone in the airline’s regional expansion strategy.
Speaking at the launch in Lagos, Mazi Osita Okonkwo, Chief Operating Officer of United Nigeria Airlines, described the development as a significant achievement for the airline.
“Ghana is an important part of our regional growth plan. This marks our first operation outside Nigeria, and we are truly excited about it,” Okonkwo said.
“Over the past four years, United Nigeria Airlines has built a strong reputation for safety, regulatory compliance, exceptional customer service, and on-time performance values we are committed to extending across all regional and international routes.”
Okonkwo added that the new route will enhance connectivity between Nigeria and Ghana, providing more travel options for both business and leisure passengers.
“With United Nigeria Airlines now operating on the Accra route, we are expanding travel opportunities for the flying public while proudly flying the Nigerian flag and strengthening regional ties,” he noted.
Tickets for the Lagos–Accra–Lagos and Abuja–Accra–Abuja routes are now available for purchase through the airline’s booking portal and accredited agents.
United Nigeria Airlines also disclosed plans to introduce new domestic routes in November, including Abuja–Sokoto and Ilorin services, as part of its broader network expansion.
“Our mission is to unite, uniting people, cultures, and dreams while bridging connectivity gaps through efficient flight operations,” Okonkwo concluded.
