Air Peace, Nigeria’s largest carrier, has expanded its fleet with the arrival of its first Embraer 190 aircraft, signaling a new phase in the airline’s operational growth.
The aircraft, with registration number 5N-CEF, landed at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos at exactly 7:38 p.m. on Sunday, June 22, 2025.
According to the airline’s spokesperson, Osifo-Whiskey Efe, the 118-seater aircraft is the first of its kind in Air Peace’s growing fleet and is expected to be joined by another unit in July.
He noted that the acquisition aligns with the airline’s strategic plan to strengthen both domestic and regional operations.
“This aircraft type introduces new efficiency levels to our operations. It’s eco-friendly, quiet, and comes with a comfortable 2-2 seating configuration that enhances passenger experience. It’s well suited for our route network and will help us connect more cities effectively,” Efe said.
He affirmed Air Peace’s commitment to improving connectivity within Nigeria and West Africa by investing in aircraft that match the network’s scale and demand.
With over 30 aircraft already in its fleet, Air Peace continues to lead the region’s aviation market.
As of May 2025, the airline maintained an average on-time performance of 85% across its domestic network—a key indicator of its operational reliability.
Looking ahead, the airline plans to expand its route network in the third quarter of the year, adding new domestic destinations, extending regional services, and launching additional international routes.
It also intends to continue strategic fleet acquisition to meet rising passenger demand.
