Air Peace Expands Global Reach with Arrival of Fourth Boeing 777

Nigeria’s largest carrier, Air Peace Limited, has bolstered its international operations with the arrival of its fourth Boeing 777 aircraft, reaffirming its leadership position in West and Central Africa’s aviation sector.

The Boeing 777-200ER, registered 5N-CEG, landed at Lagos’ Murtala Muhammed International Airport on Friday, August 22, 2025, at 3:32 p.m. from Teruel, Spain.

The wide-body jet was welcomed with a ceremonial water salute and a reception led by Air Peace Chairman Dr. Allen Onyema, Executive Director Obinna Onyema, Chief Operating Officer Mrs. Oluwatoyin Olajide, and other top management officials.

Air Peace spokesperson, Efe Osifo-Whiskey, said the acquisition aligns with the airline’s global connectivity strategy.

Configured with 312 seats — 26 in business class and 286 in economy the aircraft offers enhanced passenger comfort, including spacious seating, modern inflight amenities, and premium business class features.

The Boeing 777-200ER, registered 5N-CEG, landed at Lagos’ Murtala Muhammed International Airport on Friday, August 22.

Dr. Onyema described the delivery as a “pivotal milestone” in the airline’s growth trajectory.

He revealed that the aircraft will commence long-haul services in the coming months, starting with flights from Abuja to London Heathrow and Gatwick.

Additional route expansions will target key European destinations, Sao Paulo in Brazil, and the Caribbean, building on Air Peace’s pioneering operations into Antigua, Barbuda, and St. Kitts and Nevis.

Reaffirming the airline’s commitment to affordable international travel for Nigerians, Onyema called for a more efficient hub system to boost regional and global connectivity.

He expressed appreciation to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for supporting indigenous carriers and commended Aviation Minister Senator Festus Keyamo for policies enabling Nigerian airlines to compete globally.
