Air Peace announced disruptions to its flight operations following multiple bird strike incidents that affected three aircraft within 24 hours.
The airline has temporarily grounded the affected planes to conduct safety inspections and maintenance.
According to Air Peace, the first bird strike incident occurred yesterday, forcing an air return. Earlier today, two additional aircraft also encountered bird strikes, prompting their immediate withdrawal from service for safety checks.
In a statement, Dr. Ejike Ndiulo, Head of Corporate Communications at Air Peace, emphasised the airline’s commitment to passenger safety.
“As a safety-conscious airline, we prioritize the well-being of our passengers and crew. Our team has commenced the necessary inspections and maintenance procedures to ensure that the aircraft meet the highest safety standards before returning to service.”
Air Peace apologized to passengers for the inconvenience caused by the disruptions and assured them that efforts were underway to resolve the situation as quickly as possible. The airline is actively reaching out to affected travelers to provide assistance, including rescheduling and alternative travel arrangements where available.
“We sincerely regret any inconvenience this may cause to our valued customers,” the statement continued. “While we work to restore normal operations, we appreciate their patience and understanding.”
The airline urged passengers to stay updated on flight schedules through its official website and social media channels. Customers needing further assistance can contact Air Peace at callcenter@flyairpeace.com.
