Kano Governor, Aviation Minister, to Attend NATCA 53rd AGM

Kano State Governor Engr. Abba Kabir Yusuf and Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Mr. Festus Keyamo, have been announced as the Special Guests of Honour for the 53rd Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the Nigerian Air Traffic Controllers Association (NATCA). The event is set to take place on November 27–28, 2024, at the Bristol Palace Hotel, Kano.

Acting Director-General of Civil Aviation, Capt. Chris Najomo, will deliver the keynote address, while Alhaji Abdulmunaf Yunusa Sarina, President of the Airline Operators of Nigeria (AON), will chair the occasion. The Managing Director of the Nigerian Airspace Management Agency (NAMA), Engr. Farouk Umar, will serve as the Chief Host.

With the theme “Sustainability of the Renewed Hope Agenda in Aviation: The Imperative of Manpower Development and Efficient Air Navigation Services,” the AGM will focus on evaluating the Federal Government’s aviation policies and their impact on the sector’s manpower development and operational efficiency.

NATCA President, Mr. Abayomi Agoro, highlighted the significance of this year’s theme, noting its alignment with the “Renewed Hope Agenda” of the Federal Government.

“This year’s AGM is an opportunity for stakeholders to assess the progress and challenges in the aviation sector 18 months into the agenda. NATCA is committed to ensuring the safety and efficiency of Nigeria’s airspace through professional dialogue and policy evaluation,” Agoro stated.

The event will feature key stakeholders, including heads of aviation agencies such as: Mr. Joseph Imalighwe, Acting Rector, Nigerian College of Aviation Technology (NCAT), Zaria, Prof. Charles Anosike, Director-General, Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet), Capt. Alex Badeh Jr., Director-General, Nigerian Safety Investigation Bureau (NSIB).

Industry professionals and analysts will converge to discuss strategies for sustaining advancements in air navigation services and manpower development within the aviation sector. Sunday, November 10th, 2024
