Celebrating a decade of achievements, Air Peace was honored as a “Nigerian product and a Nigerian pride” during its 10th-anniversary event, as Vice President Kashim Shettima lauded the airline’s remarkable resilience and impact on Nigeria’s aviation industry.

In a speech delivered by the Minister of Transport, Hon. Sa’idi Alkali Ahmed, Shettima praised Air Peace’s patriotic commitment, its key role in the nation’s economic progress, and its profound influence on domestic and international aviation.

The event, attended by representatives of all 36 state governors and leading industry figures, marked a significant moment for the Nigerian airline, reinforcing its stature as a bridge for commerce, tourism, and global integration.

The Vice President recognised the airline’s role in expanding Nigeria’s domestic flight routes and positioning the country as a regional air travel hub.

He also commended Dr. Allen Onyema, Chairman of Air Peace, for providing employment to thousands within Nigeria and beyond.

Highlighting the challenges faced by Air Peace, Shettima praised the company’s enduring resilience, attributing its success to strong leadership and a dedicated workforce.

He also emphasised the government’s commitment to supporting Air Peace’s continued growth, including policies like the recent approval of the Cape Town Convention on aviation leasing, which aims to reduce costs and foster competitiveness in the industry.

The Vice President reflected on Air Peace’s humanitarian contributions, recalling its efforts to repatriate Nigerians from conflict zones such as Sudan, Libya, and South Africa. “Air Peace has always answered the call of the nation,” he said, stressing the airline’s dedication to serving the Nigerian community.

Concluding his remarks, Shettima encouraged Air Peace to continue prioritizing people and community as it charts its path for the future.

The milestone underscores Air Peace’s commitment to connecting Nigeria to the world, a goal it now pursues with renewed purpose as it embarks on its next decade of service.
