United Nigeria Airlines’ Inaugural Flight Lands in Katsina, Welcomed by Dignitaries

United Nigeria Airlines marked a significant milestone with the successful landing of its inaugural flight from Abuja to Katsina at the Umaru Musa Yar’Adua Airport.

The historic event was graced by an array of top dignitaries, led by Governor Dikko Umar Radda, alongside state officials, traditional rulers, APC leaders, and members of the Igbo community in Katsina State.

The flight, which signifies the airline’s expansion into northern Nigeria, had on board its Founder and Chairman, Prof. Obiora Okonkwo, OFR; renowned cleric Prophet Chukwuemeka Ohanaemere, popularly known as Odumeje; and former Katsina State Governor, His Excellency Bello Masari.

Other prominent figures included APC National Secretary, Senator Ajibola Bashiru; Deputy National Secretary, Barr. Festus Fuanter; National Vice Chairman (North West), Hon. Garba Datti Muhammad; National Vice Chairman (North Central), Muazu Bawa Rijau; National Organizing Secretary, Alhaji Sulieman M. Argungu; Deputy National Financial Secretary, Hon. Hamma’adama Ali Kumo; Deputy National Publicity Secretary, Hon. Diro Meseko; and Former Minority Leader of the Anambra State House of Assembly, Onyebuchi Offor. Also in attendance was the Director of Administration at United Nigeria Airlines, Linus Awute, OON, mni.

Speaking at the event, Governor Radda lauded the airline’s expansion, emphasising its potential to boost economic activities and connectivity in Katsina State.

He assured stakeholders of the state’s commitment to supporting investments that enhance transportation and commerce.

Prof. Okonkwo, in his remarks, highlighted the airline’s dedication to bridging air travel gaps across Nigeria. “Our mission is to provide safe, reliable, and efficient air travel to Nigerians. Katsina is a vital destination, and we are delighted to be here,” he said.

The event underscored United Nigeria Airlines’ growing presence in the country’s aviation industry, fostering regional integration and economic development.
